How should you maintain your Mixer Grinder JARS.

Are you tired of going to the service center every now and then for getting you mixi fixed? Then this article is for you! Taking proper care of your mixer-grinder is as much important as taking care of your body. The money that you invest in purchasing any high end electronic item can easily go into drain if you do not invest time in the maintenance of the item. Electronic items can be used efficiently and can have a longer shelf life if you follow the directions for use and maintenance properly without being lazy. It’s the job of the manufacturer and the retailer to provide these instructions clearly and in an understandable manner. Prime industries is one such responsible company which deals in mixer-grinders and juicers. This Delhi based company has people with an experience of many years in mixer-grinders and based on their experience, they have compiled a list of do’s and don’ts you should follow in order to increase the life of your mixi without having to visit the service center every now and then. Read below for being the next mixer expert at your door step!

Remove water from the jar after rinsing.
Water retained in the jar for a long time damages the bushes/ blades of the jar either due to rusting (in case of cheap blades) or due to problems associated with the socket of the jar. Make sure that each time you rinse the jar with water after using it, you do not forget to keep it upside down. This way any residual water in the jar can flow out as quickly as possible leaving the blades of the jar dry and safe.

Grease those blades.
If you think that you always keep you jar upside down after rinsing and still your blades get damaged very quickly every time, then this is for you. Even after keeping the jar upside down, tiny droplets of water may stick to the bushes of the jar damaging them with time. To avoid faster rusting of the bushes you need to get the machinery greased from time to time. This not only increases the life of the jars but also helps in reducing the noise coming from the rusted blades. Which in turn automatically increases the life of the motor.

Socket of the jar hates water.
Jars which come with a separate motor are easiest to handle. All you want to do is wash the jar under the tap. But when a jar comes with a socket, you need to be careful. You do not want the water to come in contact with the socket of the jar because it can lead to damage of the electronic parts of the jar. If you by chance happen to do the unwanted, just use a hair dryer to gently dry the water as quickly as possible.

Specific jar – specific purpose.
Always remember, a needle cannot do the job of a sword and vice versa. So use different jars for their specified purposes only. Do not use a Juicer for grinding or a mixing jar as a juicer. The blades of each jar are uniquely fabricated in order to make each jar specialised for a particular function only.

Jar overflow is wrong!
This requires a little bit of common sense! If you put 200 mL of liquid in a 100 ml glass, you will end up spilling half of the liquid. In the same way if you over burden the jar more than its capacity, the material may spill out and will be all over the machinery. If you want to avoid creating a mess all around you should restrict yourself from over filling the jars beyond the specified capacity.

Empty your jar quickly!
Often the items we intend to grind in our mixer contain salts and acids or various types. These salts and acids are responsible for slow withering off of the blades of the jar, ultimately leading to low shelf life of the mixer. Always try to remove the material as quickly as possible after the work is done and wash the jar. This will ensure little contact between the salts and acids with the blades.

Say No to refrigeration of material in jar!
Being lazy in transferring the material from the jar to another container before putting it in the fridge can be bad for our mixer. Keeping the mixi jar in the fridge alongwith the material in it can cause the material to stick to the blades and other parts inside the jar leading to blockage. It not only makes the blades not rotate smoothly but also results in strain on the motor.

So the closing statement is that without being lazy and simply adopting these practices for maintenance, you can avoid spending your precious money on getting your mixi fixed every now and then. After all your money is hard earned and we know it.
